Frequently asked questions

Can I ask a Shia scholar a question online?

Yes. Send your question on WhatsApp or book a private one-to-one session on Microsoft Teams with one of our scholars. Common topics are Namaz, Roza, taharat, Islamic history and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).

Do your scholars issue fatwas?

No. Our scholars explain the rulings of the major Shia Maraje (such as Ayatollah Sistani and Ayatollah Khamenei). For a personal ruling (fatwa), always follow your own Marja-e-Taqleed or their official office.

Who are the scholars?

Our team includes Syed Abbas Shah (PhD in Islamiat), Syed Mehdi Hassan Rizvi (MS in Islamic History) and Syed Asad Abbas Kazmi (Masters in Islamic Education).

Is my question kept private?

Yes. Questions and one-to-one sessions are private. Sisters can ask to speak with a female teacher.

Can my children ask questions too?

Yes. Children and teens are welcome, especially when preparing for Taklif. We recommend a parent joins younger children.

Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start Arabic classes?

Children can start from age 5. Younger children begin with letters and sounds; older children can move faster into reading and vocabulary.

Is this course for speaking Arabic or understanding the Quran?

The focus is reading Arabic and understanding Quranic and prayer vocabulary, so children understand what they recite. Simple everyday phrases are included for older children.

My child already reads Quran. Will this help?

Yes. Many children read the Quran fluently but do not understand the words. The vocabulary and grammar levels help them connect meaning to recitation.

Can a parent sit in the class?

Yes. We encourage parents to sit with younger children, and parents can join any class.

How do I book the free trial?
