How the Arabic classes are structured

Level 1: Letters and sounds

Children learn the Arabic alphabet, letter shapes and correct pronunciation through repetition, games and short daily practice. Our interactive books make practice at home easy.

Level 2: Reading words and short sentences

Children join letters, read with harakat and begin reading short ayahs. Many children move from here to our Quran Reading with Tajweed course.

Level 3: Understanding Quranic Arabic

Older children learn common Quranic words and simple grammar, so they can recognise meanings while reciting.

Arabic, Qaida or Quran: where should my child start?

If your child does not know the Arabic letters yet, start with our Basic Qaida course, which covers letters and reading. Choose the Arabic course if your child can already read and you want them to understand the words. Your teacher will recommend the right starting point during the free trial.

Tips for parents

  • Keep 10 minutes of daily practice between classes; short and regular works best for children.
  • Sit with younger children during class, especially for the first few lessons.
  • Use a laptop or tablet with a headset for clear sound.

Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start Arabic classes?

Children can start from age 5. Younger children begin with letters and sounds; older children can move faster into reading and vocabulary.

Is this course for speaking Arabic or understanding the Quran?

The focus is reading Arabic and understanding Quranic and prayer vocabulary, so children understand what they recite. Simple everyday phrases are included for older children.

My child already reads Quran. Will this help?

Yes. Many children read the Quran fluently but do not understand the words. The vocabulary and grammar levels help them connect meaning to recitation.

Can a parent sit in the class?

Yes. We encourage parents to sit with younger children, and parents can join any class.
