اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ رَبِّ لْعَالَمِينَ
alssalamu `alayka ya ibna rasuli rabbi al`alamina
Peace be on you, O son of the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds!
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ امِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
alssalamu `alayka ya ibna amiri almu’minina
Peace be on you, O son of the Commander of the Believers!
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ ٱلزَّهْرَاءِ

Peace be on you, O son of Fatimah, the luminous lady!

About Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (a.s.)
Imam Hasan ibn Ali (a.s.), titled al-Mujtaba (“the Chosen”), is the second Imam of the Ahlulbayt and the elder grandson of the Holy Prophet (s). He was born in Madinah on 15 Ramadan, 3 AH, to Imam Ali (a.s.) and Bibi Fatima Zahra (s.a.). The Holy Prophet (s) said of him and his brother: “Hasan and Husayn are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.”
After the martyrdom of his father in 40 AH he led the Muslims, and later agreed to a peace treaty with Muawiya to protect the lives of the believers and the future of Islam. He was poisoned and martyred in Madinah in 50 AH and is buried in Jannat al-Baqi.
When to Recite This Ziyarat
- On 15 Ramadan, his birth anniversary.
- In Safar, on the anniversary of his martyrdom.
- On any day, from home or at Jannat al-Baqi, followed by two rak’ats of ziyarat prayer.
