Go through one or two lessons at a time and repeat each line aloud until it is smooth. Children usually finish the Qaida in three to six months with regular short practice. Reading with a teacher is the quickest way to fix pronunciation mistakes early.

Basic Qaida (also called Noorani Qaida) is the first book used to teach reading the Qur’an. It starts with the Arabic letters and builds up to joining letters, vowels and basic Tajweed.
Most children start Qaida between the ages of four and six. Al Mehdi Center accepts students from age five.
With regular classes, most children finish the Qaida in three to six months and then move on to reading the Qur’an.
